Mayra's third blog

Eric and the bird continue the long tradition of the raven bird. The raven represents bad news and when ever people see this black bird they fear for the worst. In some cultures the raven represents death. For example in the crow the raven speaaking to Eric at first watches all the evil, sick, twisted things that Eric does in order to get  revenge. Also in some traditions the raven is looked upon as a good bird that helps other. In some scenes of the crow actually tries to speak to Eric and convince him out of doing some things. In addition the raven helps Eric when ever he needs it and it talks to him. The raven is also looked upon as a trickster that tricks you to get what he wants. In the novel The crow the raven tricks Eric into remembering things that make him be at peace. In addition the artwork thats so dark and gloomy helps us know that something bad is happening.

  2. In the raven mythology it helps represent why the crow is similar to a raven bird. For instance the crow shows how much of bad news he is when ever he comes around, same thing like the bird. Also in mythology it said that when ever this bird came around in the Native American tribe it was looked upon as a trickster. In addition mythology spoke about how the raven was never satisfied with its prey and he always wants more. Eric used to kill one guy and would continue to kill everyone else in the room. Also in mythology it says that the crow can be viewed as a helpful bird. Eric received most of his help from the raven too who spoke to him and helped him do everything.
